MBeanStat2.0 - WebLogic MBean Instrumentation Utility.

This tool provides a very easy way to instrument Runtime MBeans in WebLogic servers and capture system runtime data like CPU utilization. It also provides scripts to generate graphs for easy analysis. This tool is useful for engineers involved in performance tuning. The tool is easy to setup and simple to use.

History:
fernando.castano@sun.com released and posted first version of the MBeanStat utility in 2003 at BEA dev2dev website(http://dev2dev.bea.com).

MBeanStat 2.0 version includes number of enhancements since it's first release.

Release Notes - MBeanStat 2.0: MBeanStat2.0 release includes following enhancements.

a) Graphs: Includes GNUPlot scripts to generate graphs from flat stat files.
b) WebLogic Support: In addition of the WebLogic 8.1, utility also work with WebLogic 9.2.
c) Auto Reconnect: Utility can automatically reconnect to weblogic server in case weblogic server is recycled.
d) System Activity: For unix platforms with "sar" tool, utility include basic script generate graphs from "sar" output, i.e. CPU utilization.
e) Automated Thread Dump: To facilitate troubleshooting, utility can trigger java thread dumps at configurable thresholds (mbean monitoring parameters's value). This feature is currently supported for WebLogic 8.1 only.
